I fly to Brisbane in March for four days, staying in a hotel in Fortitude Valley. What are the points Brisbane strong I try and see if I'm there? I want to do some sightseeing while I'm here and also explore some of the history the region as well. How easy is it to move? CBD suitable for travel by foot or should I look at the transport? Thank you in advance for your assistance.
ok theres a spot (near Chinatown) called the valley or something like that and its just the domain of hippie-ish. ok wait Maybe thats where your hotel is. theres 3 major parks garden-y: the one I lived near (I can not think of what its called!) of relatives (ok now i cannot remember what I lived on the street), but its downtown near a music united and sometimes they had free shows there at night and has a passage through the mangrove trees along the River. another small park near the city (if not a river) has a went cold in the treetops. Mt Cootha botanical gardens are really groovy! they have a planetarium (i didn't go to a show though) and a huge section of bonsai, tons of cacti, thorny trees weird, "the lawns of marriage" (I just think it's funny), you can usually catch lizards running around and lots of stuff really, really cool it (If you are in plants) They have some "market" of events in places, I think I went every weekend and never bought a thing. Across the bridge, they have the town beach is pretty cool to see because it is as a beach, right in the middle of town, this side is pleasant to walk too much, they have more bridges through the trees and a Buddha and a temple there – South Bank (starting to remember things …) Also on this side of the bridge, they have a museum of art totally free (go to Australia!) When I was there they have stuff groovy native might interest you. Also near Mount Cootha is a walk that "reproductions" of art thats Aboriginal long enough. I do not remember what it's called. For transportation – take the bus! It is completely safe (the whole town is totally safe) and drivers are generally very friendly and help you (and the bus there isn't just for people with very low incomes -! everyone takes) or you can take! the ferry which is cool (brisbane is on a river). they have these things area, so you must purchase a ticket for however many zones you cross. You can also walk in many places. I used to walk downtown from my place in the valley – through the business section (where they have Scissorhands exceeds the sidewalk), you can go through the business section to get to the park downtown near the uni, take the foot bridge bike / more Southbank walk there, the art museum free, then take back over the main deck, get to what I think was called the Queen Street Mall (center Business people in general (and aborigonies digaredos sp?) playing music in the street which is cool) and visit the casino while you're there! then take the bus to go home. a beautiful day in the city! yeah have to mention the casino. just to see the culture-Australian. not to wear flip flops in the casino either.
