Are you tired of traffic congestion and parking to the beach much? When considering a summer vacation in a resort-side Wed popular, such as Virginia Beach, you may decide it is easier to stay home.

Fortunately, there is a better and more economic benefit to Virginia Beach during the summer. Take the shuttle Wave and leave your car at home or motel.

Each summer, Shuttle Wave offers a free car to enjoy the sea in Virginia Beach and nearby attractions. The cost is $ 1 ($ 0,50 for the disabled and seniors, free for children under 38 cm high), or $ 2 a day pass. The daily charge is accepted all over Hampton Roads buses, except the Metro Area Express (MAX). It is also agreed on a ferry known as the People's Paddlewheel Ferry.

The wave has three lanes. All work every day.

30 (Atlantic Avenue) serves all of Virginia Beach walk: every 15 minutes 8:00 to 2:00 a.m., between May 1 and September 30.

31 (Aquarium and campground shuttle) serves the Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center, Ocean Breeze Water Park, and several campgrounds. The 31 every 20 minutes from 8:00 to 2:00 a.m., between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

The 32 (Also known as Buyer shuttle) goes to the Lynnhaven Mall and Hilltop mode: every 60 minutes from 10:00 to 21:00, between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

For a special outing one day, consider a cruise on the Paddlewheel Ferry. Take Metro Area Express Route 960 Pacific Avenue at 19th Street (near the waterfront) to point Cedar Grove in the transfer of Downtown Norfolk. From there take the shuttle 310 to the water's edge. At Waterfront, enjoy a round trip on the ferry to Portsmouth's historic Old Town. Your total cost is $ 5.50 for Metro Area Express one day pass.

The shuttle Wave is within walking distance of seafront hotels and motels.

If you do not want to drive to all Amtrak Northeast Regional trains serving Newport News, VA (Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington, DC) with a free bus connection to 19th Street and Pacific Avenue in Virginia Beach.
