I think to do in Brisbane, Australia from New Zealand to attend the University Queensland campus at St Lucia. How hard is it to cross my credit psychology and sociology of credits in a psychology / criminology degree? How do I get a study allowance once I move without having to wait long. Is it difficult to find a part-time job Brisbane in a motel / hotel, and any reccomendations. Any suggestions on where to find housing.
For more information on University, go to: http://www.psy.uq.edu.au/ From what I remember when my daughter asked for a study grant, she had to produce payslips for the last 3 or so months and had to prove she had won more than a certain amount during that period. These requirements may be somewhat different because you are from New Zealand, but our students here to prove they have lived independently for some time before SA is paid. Centrelink are known to insist that every t is crossed and every i is dotted before they pay anything, especially SA, to ensure that you understand exactly what they want you to produce. Benefits are generally not backpaid if your first application fails for any reason. Jobs part-time should be easy to find if you're not too picky about what you do. There is usually a lot of shared hosting UQ for students, but it will be a little more difficult if you come by mid-year. See the notice boards of the student union and newspapers to housing.
